The problem is that the needs of the forum whine brigade are a bottomless pit. No matter how much you respond or in what detail, it won't be enough, and the whines will continue. They'll just have new things to whine about, or in more detail. At some point, it's just wasted time, time better spent doing their other jobs.

Good luck getting a real company to endlessly engage with the forum whine patrol.
In fact, name me one company that responds promptly and endlessly to forums the way people here seem to want. One.
It's a bottomless pit. CCP is more proactive with customers than pretty much any company I've ever seen. People who scream for more just haven't seen it happen elsewhere.

And again I'm forced to say the same thing over and over again because you guys don't seem to get it.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER MMO COMPANY that has at the same time an utter lack of documentation, a more "behind closed doors" changes process, a more FREQUENT rate of major changes within the game and at the same time a low level of feedback.
You either are exaggerating for effect, or you've just never played other MMOs.
And the Guild Wars example made me lol irl.

What counter-arguments? The fact that THERE IS NO COMPANY IN THE WORLD that does what you want, or the fact that THERE IS NO END TO THE DEMANDS OF THE FORUM WHINE BRIGADE is all that's needed.
You just won't accept anything that jars your own little world-view, is all. CCP communicates more actively with its customers than any company going, in pretty much any industry, certainly including MMOs.
